We never had to wear uniforms at my school, but I've seen some schools require students to wear navy jumpers kind of like this. The funny part is, I would have been sent to detention for having such a short skirt in school, so this is my~ "Haha! I can wear whatever I want to now" uniform. ;)
I thought about even adding knee high socks (a trend I'm totally loving right now), but then I thought that might be taking the schoolgirl look one step too far.
This is actually the Target floral dress worn inside out again. I decided to let the outside fabric hang down this time for a little hint of the floral print along the hemline. I will definitely be taking a closer look at the linings of all my dresses from now on to see if they can be flipped inside out!! I also love the idea of making a dress into a jumper by layering a top underneath! I will so be doing this again.

I sure do miss shopping for all the notebooks and binders (usually Hello Kitty), opening up a brand new box of crayons, and sharpening all my pencils; but I'm grateful to finally be in the real world where there's no homework~! ;)
I love the belt with the blue dress! I always have the intention to dress cute for school, but it usually only happens on later days haha! :)

Soooo jealous....in my real world, there is still homework!! But, I did get to go back to school shopping!
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely nothing like back to school shopping : )
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't add the knee socks - this is the grow up version of school girl and I think you did a great job capturing the style : )
This outfit is definitely cuter than the uniforms I had to wear in Catholic school. I really love that belt.

I have this dress, but the brown and pink one! I didn't even realize it was the same dress until I decided to turn mine inside out after seeing your post. And I wore it this way to work (fashion boutique associate), with a belt, and my manager told me that the fact that I wasn't afraid to turn a dress inside out was why she hired me. Of course I gave the credit to you, but...it was a pretty great moment.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Bailey~ I'm glad you're manager liked the idea-- that's so funny! Sabina~ sounds like a fun challenge~ I will be thinking of my stranded island look. :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit! I love the dress.

What a sweet little blog you have here. I remember this dress at Target. I love how you turned it inside out. Genuis!! You look adorable... and I totally know what you mean about first day of school preparation. ;) It's definitely great being in the "real world" though. Hope you're having a great Sunday!
