Home Tour: the breakfast nook

My house decorating is slowly but surely coming together! I've finally gotten one room just about complete so I thought I would share the progress. It's one of my favorite rooms in the house!

I've been inspired by the use of cozy sofas as dining seating that I've seen a lot lately on Pinterest, so this teal bench was one of my first "new home" purchases. I got a super great deal on it on one of my favorite sale websites Joss and Main. It's no longer available there, but you can purchase it at full price here.

The table can be found here at West Elm,  and the 2 chairs can be found here from World Market. You may remember that fur rug from my old apartment. I found it at Target.

For the roman shades, I used this amazingly simple tutorial I found on Pinterest. All you do is buy some cheap mini blinds and hot glue the fabric to the panels. They are cute and functional too! :)

I had the square shelf in my old apartment. I got it from Bed Bath and Beyond. The collection of white vintage milk vases were used as decorations in our wedding. Some of them were my grandmothers and some were found at a thrift store. I just love them! :)

My mom found this shelf/table hybrid for me at a local consignment store. I just love it and the teal background matches my sofa so perfectly! The little basket holds all the mail that I can't stand laying out on my counters. I just need to buy a few more odds and ends to decorate the shelves.Home Goods here I come! ;)

My collage wall is starting to fill up. I will be adding a few more odds and ends to that too!

We are probably opposite of the rest of America in that we mainly use our formal dining table for eating meals, but occasionally on weekends when I have the chance to eat a leisurely breakfast I really enjoy our little nook. :)
